Chord Request: At My Post (from Todd Zilla)

Postby dave on Fri Mar 11, 2011 6:10 am

Hi guys. Can any of you musically-gifted forum regulars please take a stab at 'At My Post' from Todd Zilla?

I absolutely adore this song, and I've never seen a tab for it. I think it's one of their most overlooked songs.

I can't even tell if there's much guitar in it, the verses are mini explosions of noise and synth blips, with the chorus slowing down to a crawl (gotta love those lyrics on the chorus!). I'd imagine most of it is keyboard, which is why chords would be ideal.

Thanks guys!

OK, not an easy one (Sorry I didn't reply sooner - very busy these days!)
The chords are simpler than you'd think at first glance - three main chord progressions:

The swooshy bit/verse is just:

Bb F A over and over (these chords last quite a long time i.e. Bb 2 1 2, F 2 1 A whilst the synth/bass line does other stuff)

Then the bit that has the synth solo:

Dm F Bb D Gm C Bb
Dm F Bb D Gm C Bb Bbm

Then the "Here at my post" bit:

Dm A C G Bb F Em A
Dm A C G Bb F Em A

Play around and see what you get, hope that helps and if I'm wrong let me know!
I has a PhD.

The synth bit sounds to me like
Dm F G D Gm C Bb
Dm F G D Gm C Bb Bbm

Replace the Bb with a G
Bb or B Good!

I don't know how to do harmonica tabs but I learned how to play the harmonica along to moe bandy mountaineers with a capo on the 5th fret of my acoustic. It works nicely.
