Code: Select all
Intro (come in on the 3rd beat of the drum pattern, like you're David Bowie or someone)

D

D
The science halls
A
Have hollow walls
G
And sodden carpet
D                       G
At least the cops don't come in
                    D
Spare us the legal poems
                      E
Broken legs can't run anyway

    A  G D    A G D etc
oh oh oh blah:

Some days were missed
Ten kegs at Albers
And Albers turns into geer
And hours become years
Well get back to work
Right back to work I swear
Our beakers are still full of beer

oh oh oh oh bit

SOLO!

Ddim thing (xx0132)?, D, A
Gm, D

Crotch rockets
and violins
We chisled and we switched
Naw, but their not gonna mix
So please can our dying brains
Take another break

Oh-y bit / A G D to the end

I noticed this live version on the Web that's G D C G C G A for the verse and D C G for the chorus instead of the standard version:

Is it really "Chisled"? I think it is chiseled..right? I am about to finish recording a cover of this, and I just wanna be sure. English is my 2nd language and sometimes I can't trust to much my ear...Chisled is not really a word. Thanks

You're right, it is 'Chiseled' (or maybe 'Chiselled' to keep my spell checker happy). Meaning to use a chisel - a tool for shaping wood etc. (sorry if that was patronising) :)

Looking forward to hearing it!

Thank you Brassman. I will share it in the other thread once finished. Once again, it is nothing extraordinaire, and I am pretty much been loyal to the original sound..well..except the lack of those funky electronica sounds that Jason puts in his songs. I hope to finish it soon. Maybe this weekend though one never knows.
