Jed The Humanoid, Piano.

Postby chonald on Thu Jul 23, 2009 7:42 pm

Does anyone know how to play Jed The Humanoid on the piano?

The piano part? I like it.

Jason should release a piano book with sheet music.

I was looking around for some Grandaddy sheet music online, and the pickings were slim. Is the band simply not popular enough for someone to take the time to release any?

If you're just looking for the chords, here they are:

Em C
Last night something pretty bad happened
G
We lost a friend,
D/F#
All shocked and broken
C G

Oh man! That's fantastic!

Who are these IceTabs jokers...?

Looks like they have a guy making midi files of songs and selling them on CDs - I like how "The tablature... is interpreted (not copied or derived) from the source material." so they don't have to pay royalties.

Can I get a job doing this please?

*Rant over*

I think you're just about spot on there. I'm not really sure how these books come about but I think it's more in the hands of the publishing companies than the artists.

You can't go far wrong following __redruM on this one :)

It's a very very very simple tune to play in piano. Perhaps you could try using your ear. Believe me it's not that hard.
I believe (I may be incorrect) that Jason plays:

For the left hand, try octaves for simplicity, Jason does something else, but the octaves do the trick nicely

No black keys (Until the end)

Left hand: E - E (Octaves)
Right-hand: E, B-C (play first B and C together, then E)
************
Left hand: F - F (Octaves)
Right-hand: F, G-B (play first A and C together, then F)

Transition [still playing the harmony with left-hand with F octaves)
Right-hand: F, G-C (play first G and C together, then F)
************
Left hand: C - C (Octaves)
Right-hand: E, G-C (play first G and C together, then E)
************
Left hand: G - G (Octaves)
Right-hand: D, G-C (play first G and C together, then D)
************
Left hand: G - G (Octaves)...here you could play D in between the G's octaves (Jason does that a lot throughout his music, it gives a nice effect to complement the D in the right-hand)

Right-hand: D, F-B (play first G and C together, then D)

Repeat the necessary times

That's pretty much 75% of the song...not sure if this helps. If it does, after you learn to play it, I am pretty sure you will figure out the end (Hint: Left-hand octaves are: D-D, A-A, F-F, and C-C)
