Where I'm Anymore

Postby hartsy on Tue Jan 27, 2009 12:52 am

I seem to have an impossibly hard time figuring out how to play the main little riff let alone the rest of the song, and is one of the only songs i don't know how to play. If anyone has any tips, lay it on me.

Hi hartsy.

tbh I've never really tried to play it. Maybe it scares me.

The bass line is the biggest clue on this one. It gives you the basic chord progression as:

Intro (the d chord is x00200)
d, G, d, G etc

Verse

d, G, C etc

But I'll come back to that.

What about the riff I hear you cry! I'll try and tab it Over the d and G bars you play:

Code: Select all

   d            G
e:--------0---------
b:--------------0---
g:-2-0-2-----------
d:------------------
a:------------------
e:------------------

or sometimes

   d            G
e:--------0---------
b:--------------3---
g:-2-0-2-----------
d:------------------
a:------------------
e:------------------

These riffs are built into the chords you play so I'd play the chord I've called d but which isn't d and is probably a load of rubbish as x00200 and G and 320000 with a bit of finger picking/hammer on/offs to make the riff clear.

In the C bars something else happens.

Code: Select all
   C
e:----------------------
b:---------0-1----0--1-
g:------2---------------
d:----------------------
a:----------------------
e:---------------------

or variants on

   C                          d
e:-------------------------------
b:---------3-1----0--1-----------
g:------------------------0-1-2--
d:-------------------------------
a:-------------------------------
e:-------------------------------

Each is slightly different so I'm not going to go into any more depth on those.

So the chords.

Verse:

d, G, C
d, G, C
d, G, C, E
d, G, F, D/F#

Miaw bit

d, G, F, D/F#
d, G, C

REPEAT!

Solo - over verse chords

Then repeat the whole thing... you get the idea.

If anything doesn't make sense, or if I missed anything, let me know.

Thanks for doing a lyrics version __redruM, I'm such a hypocrite - I hate it when people do tabs without the lyrics but I can never be bothered to do it myself.

Team work gets another request solved :)

I certainly couldn't have done it alone, I'm lucky if I can hear the root note and guess at major/minor, X00200 is well beyond my ear...

I'm pretty sure the lyric is Mijas, not Knee-HIghs.
Just thought you'd like to know my opinion.

a mija is a spanish term for a little girl. We get it a lot here in the Central Valley. Mijo is little boy, it's almost endearing slang to call one's children or other little children you care for.
