Final Setting Sun

Postby brassman2000 on Sat Sep 08, 2012 12:50 pm

I covered this (see main board) so had to figure out the chords. Here's my interpretation.
Thanks to Bananaman765 for the lyrics!

Code: Select all
Riff:

b e b f# b f# g f#

Em
Well he was found face down on the desert floor
C
From the looks of him he couldn't take anymore
F#7/A#
If he was dead or alive I just wasn't sure
Em
And then the whoah all of a sudden he uttered some words
Em
He said he ended up livin' a simple life
C
And then he never did manage to find him a wife
F#7/A#
He said he travelled alone and he tried to do right
Em
And it was then that he asked me about that light
Em
And I said:

G                                            Am   A(major)
That light you see is the setting sun
C
I know you've seen a few friend
A/C#                                         Em
But tonight is gonna be your final one
G                                            Am   A
That light you see is the setting sun
C
I know you loved this life
            D
But say goodbye
Em
This is your final setting sun

Instrumental:
Gm D Cm Gm
Gm D Cm Gm
Gm D Cm Gm
Gm D Cm Em

And with only a moment or two to reflect
He said I really only got one thing I regret
I regret right now that I'm saying goodbye
And for the last time he asked me about that light
And I said:

That light you see is the setting sun
I know you've seen a few friend
But tonight is gonna be your final one
That light you see is the setting sun
I know you loved this life
But say goodbye
This is your final setting sun
Although you loved this life
Say goodbye
This is you final setting sun
I know you loved this life
Your final setting sun

Note: in the verse Emsus2 works well 024000 as it incorporates the F# of the riff. Game goes for the other chords in the verse and the G in the chorus.
I has a PhD.

Nice one brassman!!! ;) I figured it went something like that on the guitar but I didn't quite get all the chords right. I know all the chords to Matterhorn and Hangtown (I think). So I'll post those some when.

I absolutely adore this song, and I've never seen a tab for it. I think it's one of their most overlooked songs.
