Vasectomy

Postby hathway on Thu Jul 07, 2011 12:11 pm

One scare story about vasectomy is that it causes prostate cancer. This began when two new studies published in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that men who had a vasectomy more than 20 years earlier faced an 89 percent greater risk of prostate cancer than those who have not undergone the procedure.

Interesting factoid on prostrate cancer:

Most men (can't give a percentage because I'm not a liar) who die of natural causes in later life are found to have prostrate cancer in autopsy. The prostrate is a sort of internal self-destruct gland in blokes - if nothing else gets you your prostrate probably will.

I therefore don't consider that to really be a scare story about vasectomy.

A real scare story about vasectomy which started when I made it up just now is that in 97.6 cases of men who's eyes and tongue have fallen out simultaneously during a particularly windy trip to the shops with the resulting disorientation causing them to be blown off course and into an open drain with the unfortunate individual then catching a tropical disease have considered having their vasectomy reversed.

unfortunately the real "scare story" is; we are all subject to death in one way or another.. If it's not the pestacides that get you,,, it'll be the black widow that bites you in the butt when your eating your local organic fruit while running an ultra-marathon.
