Thanks!

Remind me - what was the story behind "John's On The Mountain" again?

John's on a mountain was Yours truly the commuter's 13th song that was taken off the final record. It was on the unmastered disc that "walterdangerfield" received (and did broadcast on his radio show). There was another unused song on the disc that (I guess) is the one you can hear on this video :

http://bridgerbowl.com/mediagallery/dailyvideo/2010/02/27/

"Good records recordings" hinted on facebook that John's on a mountain will be the song they will release this year on 7", with a Jason untitled song on side b...

Thanks for that compilation Mot ! There are Cut_here recordings from the week residency at Al's Den, some of them soundboard, that are waiting to be shared with the donaters, right after some other links are fixed. And also what could be the contents of that "1st demo tape" that a fan wants to share. Very soon in your email box...

I'm guessing 'John's On The Mountain' will be 'Last problem of the Alps'. Surely it wouldn't have been scrapped.

I don't think so, John is a short pop song that will finally be used for an independant label release, the last problem of the Alps seem to be an ambient song, that is probably one of the 7/8 minutes song that he spoke about.

On Cut_here's recordings, there is also a live version of ”Elko in the Rain" (made after the LP), the studio version should be released this summer on the trading tortoise compilation (kickstarter project). I wonder when that one will come...

I expect Didier's called this one right, I'd love to hear a final version of John's on a Mountain though, something cute about it that I really like - I've been listening to it a lot since it surfaced....

Thanks to motovres for the playlist, makes it easier to hear what we've got so far.

Can't wait for October (Although, as Midlake would say, I can wait for winter; better if it never comes.)
