Another great one is Home. They toured with Grandaddy during the Sumday era. Home IV is their best album, IMO.

pretty good stuff. are there any bars in hawaii that play this type of stuff? the only one i knew of was pink cadillacs, but it's closed down now. any live shows with this type of stuff? i hate what i've seen of hawaii's music scene.

These are very similar you won't be disappointed:

Mercury Rev- Deserter's Song and back catalog
The Flaming Lips- Soft bulletin and back
Sparklehorse- any album I recommend dreampt for light years
The Autumn Stone - Beautiful Freaks
Daniel Johnston- Fear Yourself
Spiritualized- Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space

Sparklehorse I back 100%

Definitely the closest band to Grandaddy in terms of overall vibe.
